Dr. Patricia van Leeuwaarde Moonsammy Named Senior Director, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at ΒιΆΉΣ³»­

Dr. Patricia van Leeuwaarde Moonsammy has been named senior director, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) at ΒιΆΉΣ³»­, announced Dr. Ron Kraft, superintendent/president after the board of trustees approved her contract at its May 13 meeting. Dr. van Leeuwaarde Moonsammy will start her new post effective June 1, 2021.

ΒιΆΉΣ³»­ Announces Food & Wine Enthusiast Classes for Summer 2021

ΒιΆΉΣ³»­ will continue to offer its Food & Wine Enthusiast classes in-person this summer with limited enrollment. Classes will all take place at the ΒιΆΉΣ³»­ Upper Valley Campus, Belle Rhodes Teaching Kitchen in St. Helena and pre-registration is required and limited to two-person β€œpods” to limit the number of households participating.

Arturo Macias Franco beat all odds to achieve his education. Growing up in Torreon Coahuila, Mexico, listening to stories about his grandfather’s ranch and animals, he was drawn towards a life in agriculture and veterinary science, and wanted to be a veterinarian.

ΒιΆΉΣ³»­ awards first LGBT Studies degrees

Midday on Saturday, May 29, hundreds of students will participate in a β€œdrive-thru” ceremony at ΒιΆΉΣ³»­ (NVC) with their families, to pick up their diploma cover and take photos marking the moment they receive their degrees and certificates. Among them, for the first time ever, will be two students who have earned associate of science degrees in LGBT education.

ΒιΆΉΣ³»­ Invites Community to Provide Input on Community Education Classes and Programs

ΒιΆΉΣ³»­ (NVC) serves the community in a number of ways, including Community Education classes and programs, which provide opportunities to learn, grow and develop. NVC is planning to expand its community education offerings across the county and would like input to help inform that process.
